Pharmaceutical

The global pharmaceutical industry is in the process of making significant permanent changes which will change the way we think about pharmaceutical care. Asia Pacific many times lead these changes due to the rapid evolution of technology and expansion of drug research and pharmaceutical care. However, many of the larger companies are concentrating on complex and expensive treatments involving large molecules such as proteins, genetic therapy, stem cells and immunotherapy.

While these products have useful purposes, they will significantly increase the cost of care and keep the care away from the patient as physicians will need to deliver and monitor these treatment regimens. Natural compounds are often lost to extracts and Traditional Chinese Medicines. However, the active ingredients of these beneficial sources of treatment can be re-engineered by A2 Bioscience to improve the lives of others.

As the Asia Pacific region continues to grow, further dominance in the global market for influencing new technologies will be a common report. A2 Bioscience is therefore headquartered in Singapore, the heart of biotechnology and biomedical sciences.

Aided by a visionary government and supportive platforms, A2Bioscience uses Singapore as its market entry point with an eye for expansion throughout Asia Pacific region. To date, A2 Bioscience is in the planning stages for cross border expansion into Malaysia, Hong Kong, Australia, Indonesia and Thailand.

A2 Bioscience uses technology such as nano-technology, encapsulation methods of active ingredients, thin film strip technology and others to make these compounds better absorbed and available at the needed site of action in a timely and effective way.

In order to provide the patient/consumer with cost effective treatment methods, A2 Bioscience focuses its research on natural compounds which have been historically proven effective by independent global medical research teams. Often this research work has been published and well accepted by the medical community. However, most of the time these compounds lack further development work. This is where A2 Bioscience conducts its research. From that point, the A2 Bioscience redesigns

the methods and drug delivery systems capable of making the natural compound more effective. This has led to more than 20 compounds in the A2 Bioscience pipeline to date. A2 Bioscience has concentrated its research in key therapeutic areas such as: neuroscience, cosmeceuticals, anti-infectives and medical devices. By using these research methods, A2 Bioscience is able to get products to market more quickly at a lower cost. This in turn makes the treatments more cost effective to the patient/consumer.

Combining Modern Science with Traditional Chinese Medicine

A2 Bioscience is named for the synergistic roles that Asia has known for many years (Traditional Chinese Medicince) with the addition of new and innovative Alternative technologies (western technology) to make traditional therapies more effective. Traditional Chinese Medicine including the use of herbs and other plant products has been practiced for centuries, however, many western practitioners are unaware of the science behind TCM.

A2 Bioscience uses innovation to meld TCM and western medicine. That innovation can be thought of as “Alternative” methods of long term uses of natural compounds often found in many “Asian” compounds. So, that Alternative and Asia compounds breed’s opportunity to change how the world thinks of natural treatments for common ailments hence the name “A2” or “A+A”.

Ethnobotany and Medicine

Ethnobotany is the discovery and application of naturally occurring plant based substances to the health of humans, so called “natural science and medicine” or, the relationship of people and plants. Many naturally occurring products have been proven over time to be safe, having high safety indices (in medical terminology). Many of these natural products have been discovered previously but have not been employed in the most

effective manner due to lack of scientific studies on these products and the lack of application of new scientific techniques to optimize their use. A2 Bioscience uses the basis of natural science and medicine to begin its research and then seeks to employ the newest and highest technology in drug therapy in a synergistic method to produce its safe and effective products.
